Each frame begins as a blank canvas in their in-house creative studio, led by Thomas Lafont, with 70% of colourways created exclusively for the brand. Made in France in the Jura region and certified by Origine France Garantie, with 80 to 95% of the collection crafted locally, Lafont combines artisanal hand-finishing with cutting-edge techniques to create visually striking, comfortable, and durable eyewear.
Maison Lafont marks a century of French eyewear excellence, with its story beginning in 1923 when Louis Lafont opened a boutique near Place de la Madeleine in Paris. Over four generations, including Jean Lafont and later Laurence and Philippe, who launched the iconic “Génie” frame in the 1980s, the family has maintained its independence and Parisian spirit. Today, the brand is co-led by Thomas and Matthieu Lafont, and remains family-run while confidently charting an eco-responsible path for the future.
